Waiting on Wednesday: Fly Away Home by Jennifer Weiner

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author, a novel about a family of women who seek refuge in an old beach house.

Jennifer Weiner wowed critics and readers with Good in Bed -- a savvy debut that took "chick lit" to new heights. Fans fell in love with the heroine, Cannie -- a zaftig entertainment journalist who could give any of the Sex and the City girls a run for their stilettos. When In Her Shoes was adapted into a Hollywood hit, and Goodnight, Nobody hit the bestseller list, Weiner officially transcended One Hit Wonder status.

  1. The brief synopsis sounds good :)

  2. A book almost every summer is a good thing.

  3. I'm waiting on this one, too...looks like a great beach read!

  4. I love the cover!
I can imagine them sitting there discussing all sorts of emotional trauma, with the house up on top of the hill.

  5. Great pick, it's been so long since I've read Weiner. My WOW is at The Crowded Leaf.

  6. Looks like a great summer read. When my son was small he loved a movie called Fly Away Home about a girl and her pet geese. I couldn't help think of the geese with the title!

  7. I love Jennifer Weiner! I am excited for this too.....

  8. this book makes me sad. I loved her first two, but they went downhill and now I've stopped. I really hope she can get back to the level of Bed or Shoes, but I've stopped believing. :(

Thanks for leaving a note! I try to reply to all conversations!
