The first thing that came to mind when I finished reading this was "Southern Gothic" and a little bit of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
This is not just another teen drama, but a wonderful study on love and relationships. It did take me about 10 hours of reading to get through it, but it was well worth it. No worries for parents here either. There is some necking and slight violence but not even on par with Romeo and Juliet. And come to think of it, there are elements of that classic in here as well. I can't wait to start on the next one in this series.
I checked on this one and it is on my libraries Overdrive Media. It says 17 and half hours read by Kevin Collins. I don't know if I can do that in one week or not....sounds really good tho.
ReplyDeleteYour review is tempting!
I really enjoyed this one and can't wait for sequel!
ReplyDeleteHi! This sounds like a exciting book..from your description it sounds like it is a town close to the town featured in the show "True Blood". :)

I love this book! I checked it out from my library last month. It reminded me of To Kill A Mockingbird too; the whole Southern aura about it was similar, I guess!
ReplyDeleteI've had this on my TBR list for a while, I'll have to get moving, thanks for reminding me how good it sounds.
