About the Author

He is also the recipient of an American Book Award, a Western States Book Award, and a Colorado Book Award, and he has been inducted into the Latino Literary Hall of Fame. He lives in Chicago.

Quick Review:

This is perfect read for any book group, but it is especially well suited to those in Southern California since the Spanglish shouldn't give any reader here any problem.  If you are familiar with the movie, The Magnificent Seven, you will probably enjoy this book even more since part of the story is loosely based on it.  Check out the Reading Group Guide HERE
