Cy Hathaway needs a wife, fast, to win custody of his son, Jonty. He returns home to discover the childhood sweetheart he once left behind has become a vibrant, beautiful woman. Even though wanting to sweep her off her feet wasn't part of the plan…
For Ellie, Cy's sudden reappearance awakens a flood of memories—and resentments for the way he’d abandoned her all those years ago. But she has a life now, a career. She can't simply drop everything and get hitched, even if the sight of him still makes her heart race.
But after Ellie meets his little boy, she can't refuse. Certain she has a grip on her old feelings for Cy, she agrees to marry her first love until he gains custody. But when did helping out a friend become something with the capacity to hijack her heart?

About the Author
Barbara DeLeo’s first book, co-written with her best friend, was a story about beauty queens in space. She was eleven, and the sole, handwritten copy was lost years ago, much to everyone’s relief. It’s some small miracle that she kept the faith and is now living her dream of writing sparkling contemporary romance with unforgettable characters.
After completing degrees in Psychology and English then travelling the world, Barbara married her winemaker hero and had two sets of twins.
She still loves telling stories about finding love in all the wrong places, with not a beauty queen or spaceship in sight.

PLEASE WELCOME BARBARA TO BOOKHOUNDS!
What is the first book you remember reading by yourself as a child?
“The Enchanted Wood” by Enid Blyton. We used to visit my grandparents every holiday and the three of us kids would squeeze Granddad out of bed and Gran would read us Enid Blyton stories. My Gran’s name was Enid too and I always had a secret fantasy she was leading a double life J
I’m not sure how old I was when I read “The Enchanted Wood” but I ended up reading it and the other books in the series over and over. I was so excited when my own kids got to read them.
What are you reading right now?
I’m a big Sarah Mayberry fan and have just finished “Her Best Worst Mistake” and now I’m on to “Hot Island Nights”
How does your garden grow?
Too quickly! When we had our second set of twins we knew we’d need a LOT of space so we bought a house with half an acre of garden. It’s a back section so completely private and there’s a lot of lawn and roses and a vegetable garden. It’s summer here in New Zealand and the roses are looking gorgeous right now.
What is the last thing you Googled?
The name of the guy who plays the character of Inigo Montoya in “The Princess Bride”. I love that movie!
What makes you cringe?
The thought that there’s two weeks until Christmas and I haven’t bought one gift yet.

Well, of course, she can't resist the little boy, but then she can't resist the dad either. It sounds sweet.

ReplyDeleteHi Barbara! Your book sounds wonderful. I really enjoyed reading this post. :)
ReplyDeleteTHE book sounds great. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great giveaway and the chance to win :D
ReplyDeleteI am sure that Ellie will understand that because they are older now that what she felt for Cy will be so much deeper that young love. Plus it helps that the child is going to be sweet and the dads hotter now as a man then when they were younger. That they both have gotten wiser in life and should know what they want out of it
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this author before, but this story sounds interesting. Thanks for the giveaway. Happy Holidays!

This sounds like a great read. I'm way behind this year with buying Christmas gifts, and getting gifts wrapped. It get's harder each year, especially as the grand kids are so much older, and just want money.
