Giveaway Interview THE OUTLAW KNIGHT by ELIZABETH CHADWICK @Chadwickauthor @sbkslandmark

Book Description

 September 3, 2013

A Deadly Rival.
An Ancient Family Dispute.
An Impossible Love.
He should have known better than to fight with the future King John. Ruthless and feared, John is not one to forget or forgive. But Fulke FitzWarin couldn't help himself, and now the vindictive John has insured that Fulke will never become lord of the castle he loves.
Instead of accepting his fate, Fulke rebels. He begins an affair with Maude Walter, the wealthy widow desired by John himself. Negotiating a maze of deceit, treachery, and shifting alliances, Fulke's route to success is blocked at every turn. And when the turmoil of the Magna Carta rebellion combines with a shocking tragedy, everything Fulke has fought for is thrown into the path of destruction.

About the Author

Best selling historical novelist Elizabeth Chadwick won a Betty Trask Award for her first novel The Wild Hunt. She has been shortlisted for the UK's mainstream Best Romantic Novel of the Year Award 4 times and longlisted twice. Her novel The Scarlet Lion about the great William Marshal and his wife Isabelle de Clare, has been selected by Richard Lee, founder of the Historical Novel Society as one of the landmark historical novels of the last ten years.
When not at her desk, she can be found taking long walks with the dog, baking cakes, reading books (of course!) exploring ruins, listening to various brands of rock and metal music, and occasionally slaving over a steaming cauldron with re-enactment society Regia Anglorum.

PLEASE WELCOME ELIZABETH TO BOOKHOUNDS

1.What is the first book you remember reading by yourself as a child?

My first reader at school, which consisted of stories that began very simply indeed and gradually increased in skill. I don’t remember the early stories in that book, but I do remember Little Red Riding Hood being one of the stories at the end, which we weren’t supposed to read quite yet. However, I picked up reading fast as a flash once the basics were explained, and I devoured the lot!

Other than that, I remember reading a book about a little girl who finds a dragon in a cave while on holiday in Cornwall. It’s called Green Smoke by Ruth Manning Sanders.

2. What are you reading right now?

Caleb’s Crossing by Geraldine Brooks.

3. How does your garden grow?

A cottage vegetable garden in the middle of England. We grow all our own fruit and vegetables and are self-sufficient for most of the year.

4. What is the last thing you Googled?

Other than to make sure I’d spelled Geraldine Brooks’ name right for Caleb’s Crossing? It would be the medieval collection at the Victoria and Albert Musem.

5. What makes you cringe?

Being late for anything.
