Q&A with MATT DUNN author of Ex-Girlfriends United

PLEASE WELCOME MATT DUNN TO BOOKHOUNDS

About the Author

Matt Dunn has written about life, love, and relationships for the Times, Guardian, The Sun, and a number of magazines, including Company, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour, and Scarlet. But he prefers writing novels for a living. Please check out my review for his latest book:  EX GIRLFRIENDS UNITED and you might win a copy!

1. Bookmarks or dog ears? Bookmarks.
I don't like defacing books. Although now I have a Kindle, it's not a problem.

2. Dust jacket on or off when reading a hard back?
On. So I can use it as a book mark!

3. What is the first book you remember reading by yourself as a child?
Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

4. What are you reading right now?
I like to have a few books on the go at one time. So I'm reading the Tony Curtis book about Some Like It Hot (which is possibly my favourite film), Steve Hely's 'How I Became A Famous Novelist', and 'Reading Like A Writer' by Francine Prose

5. Do you have a favorite author?
Probably David Mitchell. Cloud Atlas is the most incredible book. Though he's such a good writer he makes me want to give up writing and go and retrain as an accountant or something.

6. Was there a book that inspired you to write?
Nick Hornby's High Fidelity. It made me think there might be an audience for the kind of thing I wanted to write, so I sat down and tried to produce something as good. Six novels later, I'm still trying.

7. Do you have a favorite place to write?
Airplanes, funnily enough. No distracting internet.

8. How does your garden grow?
I have pot plants. And by that I mean plants in pots, not, you know, pot.

9. What is the last thing you Googled?
*checks history* myself.

10. What makes you cringe?
Googling myself.

Please be sure to order Matt's book right now!
