GIVEAWAY! Planet of the Dogs by Robert J. McCarty (Book Review 2010-59)

Product Description

Out in space, on the other side of the sun, is the Planet Of The Dogs. Dogs have always lived there in peace and happiness. One day many years ago, the council of the elder dogs learned that there were problems on Earth, the Planet of the People. Many people had forgotten how to love and had become mean and greedy. The good people of Green Valley were threatened by the warrior tribes of Stone City. The council realized that they needed help. This is the story of the first time dogs came to planet earth to teach people about love and to bring peace to Green Valley.

LOVED IT

This book works on so many levels for readers of any age.  I think Planet of the Dogs would be a great book to read out loud to younger children, older children will be challenged by the strong use of more complex words and adults will just plain love it.  The story is a timeless classic about how goodness triumphs over evil and well, you know, dogs are the ultimate good in my book.  I think my favorite part of the whole book is when Lucy (the ruler of Dog Planet),  decries that any child who wants a dog will get one!  Planet of the Dogs shows just how important dogs can be in anyone's life.
