Fallen by Lauren Kate (Book Review 215)

Fallen by Lauren Kate

 LOVED IT

The story of a fallen angel in love with a human hit the mark for me unlike Twlight.  Yes, the first 100 pages are a set up for the rest of the story, so it would have been perfect had that been condensed a bit.  I found the characters interesting enough, yet a little vague, although it all made sense by the time I got to the last 100 pages.  The story really took off and kept me turning the pages.  I can't wait for the next one.

Luce and Daniel create such a dynamic couple towards the end.  There is enough good and evil to keep this battle going for a while between the fallen angels.  This is probably best for teens since there is some underage drinking and a few kisses here and there.

FYI -- I did read Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and loved that one as well.

Product Description

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.
